Delicious Egg Bread in a Hole!


I love these kinds of recipes for breakfast. There is just something about the English breakfast which makes me feel at ease and calm. Maybe it is because I usually make it on Sunday morning.

This is not a traditional English breakfast, but it has a lot of similarities with it. I can say that this is the less complex and easier to make version of the traditional English Breakfast.

Now, it is time to try it out, and after you are finished with cooking, grab a cup of tea and consume it. You will enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons bacon grease
  • 1 slice bread
  • 1 egg
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. First, melt the bacon grease in a non-stick pan over a low heat
  2. Cut a 1 1/2 to 2 inch hole from the center of the bread slice. Lay it in the hot skillet. When the side facing down is toasted, which will be probably in 2 minutes, flip and crack the egg into the hole. Season, with salt and pepper. Continue to cook until the egg is cooked and mostly firm. Flip again and cook 1 minute more to assure doneness on both sides. Serve immediately.
