Since my blog is new, I don’t really have any frequently asked questions as of yet. So, I thought I would include a few questions and answers that would help you to learn more about me. Once my readers start asking me questions, I’ll begin to post them here. Enjoy!
Q: Where do you live?
A: I live in the Boston area pretty much on a university’s campus with my husband, Patrick. City living is where it’s at…for now!
Q: What’s your favorite ‘healthy’ food to eat?
A: I love fruit – especially a nice, crisp apple like a McIntosh or Macoun. It’s especially when it’s fresh out of the fridge!
Q: What’s your favorite ‘unhealthy’ food to eat aka your weakness?
A: That’s a tough one…there is certainly more than one. I would have to say french fries or potato chips. I think I could have one of those every day and not be sick of either one. While I do like sweets, I would take a fried/greasy carb any day of the week.
Q: What kind of yoga mat do you practice with?
A: I currently have the Jade Harmony Professional 3/16-Inch Yoga Mat.It’s bright orange (but not neon) and it’s great because I don’t slip on it. I’ve had it for close to 2 years now. In addition to my mat, I also use a Yogitoes Skidless Mat-Size Yoga Towel.
It’s moss green and orange and matches my mat perfectly!
Q: What does Namasté mean?
A: Namasté is a term I learned in yoga. We usually say this as a greeting to another yogi before class and we usually end class by saying this just as we bow our heads with our hands pressed together over our third eye. The literal translation is “The light within me honors the light within you.” To me, it’s a simple and honest way to greet and welcome another human being.
Q: Are you a registered dietitian? What is your background in nutrition? What makes you an expert?
A: Nope. I’m not an RD. I didn’t study nutrition in school. And, I’m certainly no expert! I’m learning as I’m writing this blog and this is just a forum for me to share and give my observations. I’m not trying to dole out advice either. This is just my interpretation on being healthy (and human) and how I choose to conduct my life.
Q: How can we contact you?
A: You can send me an email at healthychow@gmail.com. Or, send me a tweet!

Hi, I'm Nicole and welcome to Healthy Chow. My last name is Chow and this is my journey to living a life that is healthy and well-balanced. That being said, I thought Healthy Chow would be an appropriate name for my blog! I love to eat, I'm growing my love to cook and I'm in love with family, yoga and creating my own jewelry. This blog was started as a way to remind myself (and the world) that there isn't just one definition of healthy. We each just need to find our own meaning. Please join me as I find mine.
